IUCN World Conservation Congress

ASOC attended the recent IUCN World Conservation Congress in Barcelona, where two important resolutions on Antarctica were passed.

IUCN Resolution on Antarctica and the Southern Ocean  In this resolution, IUCN expressed concern about the serious environmental problems facing Antarctica, and urged treaty parties to take actions to solve these problems.

IUCN Engagement on Antarctica and the Southern Ocean  In this resolution, the IUCN encouraged the IUCN director general to make Antarctic conservation a priority.
